Read books if you want to live longer. A recent research from Yale University concluded that people with good reading habits would live a little longer.
As the Washington Post reported, the research involved 3,635 participants age over 50. The participants were asked about their health condition and reading habits. After that, the researchers jumped into the conclusion.
“Book readers experienced a 20% reduction in risk of mortality over the 12 years of follow-up compared to non-book readers.”
The research suggests you to read more books, but not newspapers. The researchers said that longevity was not increased by reading newspapers.
This research was published in Journal of Social Science and Medicine, September edition.
